This would be a very bold move.
The size of tweets could be increased from 140 characters to as many as 10,000-per-tweet, according to a report on Bloomberg.
The report quotes a source close to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, claiming that the company is looking at ways to boost engagement and no change is too outlandish.
Trials will determine whether or not the 10,000 character tweet becomes a reality, although seasoned users of the social media site are bound to be put off by a move that could make Twitter more like Facebook.
Twitter has already started experimenting with a new algorithm that sees the most relevant content appear higher up a person’s feed, regardless of when the tweet was posted.
It also removed the 140-character limit for Direct Messages last August.
