The UFC have this evening confirmed that Conor McGregor will go up against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 197 in Las Vegas on March 5.

McGregor will look to make history in his attempt to become only the third fighter in the history of the UFC (after BJ Penn and Randy Couture) to win titles at two weight classes when he takes on the UFC Lightweight Champion in the MGM Grand Arena in just under two months’ time.
If he defeats Dos Anjos only three months after his spectacular defeat of Jose Aldo last month, McGregor will also become the first fighter in the history of the UFC to hold two belts in two divisions at the same time.
It’s going to be some occasion and tickets go on sale next Friday, January 22.
