Don McClean, famous for singing folk rock song American Pie, was arrested at his home in Maine today on charges of domestic violence.
The police were called to the 70-year-old’s residence, and according to Chief Randy Gagne he was arrested without incident.
He was released on bail, and will appear in court to face the charges on February 22.
McClean is best known for his hit song American Pie, released in 1971. The song is generally thought to be a tribute to the late Buddy Holly.
