What a hero.
The GAA wouldn’t be the great association it is without the people behind the scenes who put their shoulders to the wheel and ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
There is absolutely no problem that these guys can’t overcome and if you needed proof of that, just watch what happened when an audio recording of the national anthem cut off halfway through before the All-Ireland Junior club football semi-final in Carrick on Shannon on Sunday.
Most people would be happy enough to chalk it down to a technical error and allow the game to go ahead without the national anthem having been completed but not Seán Ó Suilleabháin of Leitrim GAA, as you’ll see in the footage sent to us Brian Blake below.
When the recording came to an abrupt halt, up stepped Sean to grab the mic and sing the rest of the national anthem with such gusto that they might decide they don’t need a recording of Amhrán Na bhFiann at Páirc Sean mac Diarmada in future.
Legend.
