The most popular questions and issues of the debate have also been shared.
There was a lot of fallout from last night’s leaders’ debate, not least because the general consensus was that the small parties performed admirably.
Google Trends has backed up that, as they have published the most searched for leaders during the debate on Google.
Renua, People Before Profit Alliance and particularly the Social Democrats will be happy, with their heads top of the pile.
- Stephen Donnelly – 21%
- Richard Boyd-Barrett – 20%
- Lucinda Creighton – 17%
- Joan Burton – 14%
- Gerry Adams – 12%
- Enda Kenny – 9%
- Micheál Martin – 7%
The top five Google searches for key issues have also been revealed and it’s no surprise to see jobs – with unemployment in January at its lowest level since November 2008 – at number one.
- Jobs
- Tax
- Education
- Crime
- Healthcare
Finally, the most searched questions on Google, stemming from the topics raised by each leader, are now known.
Fine Gael’s manifesto was of the most interest to Irish people, followed by Renua’s mandate.
Meanwhile, the question of who people should vote for in the election was also heavily searached.
- What do Fine Gael promise?
- What do Renua Ireland promise?
- Who should I vote for in the Irish general election?
- When is the Irish general election?
- How do I find out my constituency?
