Conor McGregor is arguably the finest MMA fighter in the UFC, and more than that he is arguably Ireland’s finest active athlete – so it makes a lot of sense that he takes great pride in his achievements.
He also has a tendency towards florid, poetic language that can make for extremely entertaining Instagram posts like this one.
Whereas we were under the impression that The Notorious is paid handsomely to entertain the masses and put champions to sleep in 13 seconds… he takes a somewhat more gory view of his job…

While we have no doubt that the Crumlin man is more than capable of doing so, we would kindly ask him not to – if for not other reason than he’d get into a lot of trouble.
There’s also some disputing McGregor’s point that he is the first Irishman ever to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated… Eamonn Coghlan and Ronnie Delaney would have something to say about that.
