Don’t worry because there’s no need to run to the nearest church and give a confession because it’s actually very rare rare that a sex dream implies that you actually fancy the person.
Ian Wallace is a dream psychologist and author of The Top 100 Dreams: The Dreams That We All Have and What They Really Mean, and he states that “All dreams, even sex dreams, can be easily connected to things going on in your life“.
Here’s what the most common sex dreams actually mean.
Sex with your boss.
This is usually interpreted as an indication that you’re ready to take on more responsibility in work.
“Sure, you may be sexually attracted to your boss,” says Wallace. “But if you’re having sex with him in a dream, your subconscious is probably becoming aware of your own ability to make decisions and act as a leader.”
Sex with with a close friend.
This one is particularly common but there’s nothing to panic about. It’s most likely that you’re dreaming about this person because they possess a quality that you admire, usually about their personality and not a physical one.
According to Wallace, your mate has a talent that your subconscious is working to develop.
Cheating on a partner or being cheated on.
We know what you’re thinking but there’s no need to start worrying or any need to avoid eye contact with your partner.
“When you dream that your partner is having an affair, it may mean that you’re losing faith in your own abilities or attractiveness,” says Wallace.
On the other hand, if you’re the one that’s cheating in in the dream then it’s likely that you’re worried that you’ve been a poor partner.
Sex with a family member
We’re entering Jamie and Cersei Lannister territory now but this dream is quite common. Once again it all comes down to admiration and respect, says Wallace.
Sex with your ex
You might be surprised to hear that this is the most dangerous dream to have. If you’ve managed to get over your ex , only to have them haunt your dreams like some ghoulish Freddy Kruger, then this is usually a sign that you’re in danger of repeating the same bad habits from your failed relationship.
