We’re very surprised at number one, we have to say.
Accountants have a reputation – deserved or otherwise – for being safe, conservative individuals, but not when it comes to their habits behind the wheel according to new research in the UK.
According to i100, car insurance specialist, 1st Central, conducted a study of one million motorists in the UK and found that accountants made the most accident claims with 16,000 annually, followed by solicitors with 15,000.
Doctors, financial advisors, bank managers and train drivers also featured prominently, as did letting agents, airline cabin crew and pharmacists.
Farmers, builders and roofers, meanwhile, proved to be the safest motorists, or at least they don’t make nearly as many accident claims as their more road rage-prone counterparts in the top ten.
