“He had only 45 years on this Earth but they were 45 full years let me tell you that for nothing.”

We’d be amazed if you somehow haven’t seen the exploits of Brian O’Sullivan in the last 10 days or so. If not, this should explain it.

On Holy Thursday, at the wake of the late Ger ‘Farmer’ Foley in Killorglin, Brian paid a unique tribute to his old mate by belting out a rousing version of the Killers’ Mr. Brightside while standing up on the counter in Falvey’s Bar.

Brian’s performance went viral all over the world and even earned a shout-out from the Killers, who have put him on the guestlist for their next date in Ireland.

Last night, Brian made an appearance on The Ray D’Arcy show with Ger’s wife Gráinne, both of whom were keen to stress the importance of organ donation in Ireland.

Brian also paid the most heartwarming tribute to his late friend, saying that he was “a beautiful man” and that the song had a particular resonance as Ger was “Mr. Brightside to so many people”.
