Just ask Robb Stark, Oberyn Martell or Stannis Baratheon about their attempts to defy the rule of the Lannisters.
The characters that value brains over brawn seem to live longer in Westeros – Tyrion and Littlefinger being the best examples – and two Dublin venues are looking for fellow braniacs/Maester’s on all things Game of Thrones.
To mark the imminent arrival of Season 6, The Sugar Club (April 21) and Chaplins Comedy Club (April 6), are both having a Game of Thrones themed quiz.
Here’s what’s in store, starting with Chaplins;
We are kicking off our new Big Fat Quiz of series with Game of Thrones Wednesday April 6th, and it’s in aid of the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary which George RR Martin himself as been raising money for, so if you’ve illegally downloaded the show you have to go.
Most of the questions will be based on the TV version but the books will be included too. There’ll be prizes for the winners, losers, best named team, best answer, and legally permitting gratuitous nudity.
Its €20 per team (of up to 4) and that includes bookign fee if you book online. Capacity is limited and this will fill up quickly.
Much like the ongoing feud between Houses Stark and Lannister, The Sugar Club have made their own bid for quiz supremacy;
Ahead of the long awaited release of Game of Thrones – Season 6 this month, Radiomade.ie have decided to host ‘Knowledge is Power’ – A Game of Thrones Quiz at the Sugar Club on Thursday, 21st of April. So gather your table of 4 and put your show of knowledge to the test at, what you’ll probably agree, is the perfect venue for this quiz. A full bar, a whopper smoking section, a cinema screen, loads of nibbles and, of course, the usual deadly vibes.
The night will kick off at 7pm where we will be screening the final episode of last season, just to warm you up. Then at 8pm, we will kick off the quiz. 10 rounds of 10 questions with random spot prize questions in between rounds, and for those of you who aren’t exactly what you’d call hardcore fans, we’ll be having a raffle, a best dressed team prize and a best named team prize, so get those thinking caps on. We will be announcing what the prizes will be over the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
