PICS: Spectacular images taken from the snow-covered summit of Mount Errigal in Donegal at sunrise

Conor Heneghan

Stunning.

Many parts of Ireland experienced snow in what has been crazy week for weather – even by Ireland’s ridiculous standards – but it didn’t stick in most places.

It did in a number of elevated areas, such as Mount Errigal in Donegal, where JOE reader Iain Miller hiked to the summit on Friday morning.

Very early on Friday morning in fact.

It can’t have been an easy ascent given the conditions we’ve experienced of late, but Iain’s journey to the top was worth it for the spectacular photos and the video he captured as a result.

If we didn’t know better, we’d swear it was Christmas.
