Your old iPod could be worth a lot of money

When it comes to valuable collectors’ items, your initial thoughts will probably be of vinyl records and old punt coins.

So, for something as young as the iPod, which only came out in 2001, you probably wouldn’t imagine it would be worth a whole lot.

But now it seems that collectors will bid surprisingly high for an early generation iPod on Ebay.

Maybe it’s a combination of Apple confirming in 2014 that it was dropping the iPod Classic altogether, along with the rapid growth of Apple products, but many people are willing to buy the thing that started it all for thousands of euros.

Futurama money

Here are just a few examples of how much people are selling their iPods for…

This 2nd Gen iPod for over €17,000, which you can find here

The seller was kind enough to offer free shipping for this one, the big legend.

Or this 1st Gen iPod for nearly €9000

Of course, the sealed products will always sell for more, so your opened and used one might not go for quite as much, but if it’s lying around your house why not see how much it could be sold for?

The issue is that the longer you leave it the more valuable it will become, so how long are you willing to wait before selling yours on?
