They’ve done it again, for the second time in three years.
Real Madrid have won the Champions League by beating Atletico Madrid on penalties at the San Siro, with Cristiano Ronaldo converting the decisive penalty in the shootout.
Sergio Ramos’ early strike had a hint of offside about it, although Real certainly deserved the 1-0 lead going into the break.
Atletico had a golden opportunity to level matters at the start of the second-half, when Pepe took down Fernando Torres in the area, but Antoine Griezmann smashed his penalty against the crossbar.
It looked like Real were going to hang on for victory, until substitute Yannick Ferreira Carrasco levelled the match for Atletico in the 79th minute, leaving the game at 1-1 after 90 minutes.
As the match went into extra-time, players were seriously struggling with fatigue, as neither side could be separated…
ronaldo looks to be struggling now. leaning down hands on knees with the wincing face like gary pallister.

Pepe is genuinely a loathsome individual. I actually despise him and the way he continually behaves. #uclfinal

Why DO you all have to be on the half way line? WHY the long walk? why can't you just be on edge of area like a normal penalty? #uclfinal

After a series of brilliant penalties, Juanfran’s miss for Atletico allowed Cristiano Ronaldo himself to seal the win for Real…
Ronaldo does nothing all game, scores the winning pen. Football is so cruel

First time I’ve ever seen a girl cry when Ronaldo takes his shirt off.

Ronaldo showed up during the penalties and sealed it. Congrats to Real and Bale. Well played Atletico. Pepe a clown.

The best team lost… and that is football. Ronaldo didn't make this final his own but brave as always, wanted the 5th and most tense penal
— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) May 28, 2016
Ronaldo. Unruffled. Unstoppable pen. Undecima. One of Ronaldo's poorer games but one touch won it. Congratulations to @realmadriden

We’ll leave the last word of this season’s Champions League final to Gary Lineker…
Pepe is an enormous dick.

Thanks Gary.
