This Father Ted-themed flag for Euro 2016 is the stuff of dreams

Paul Moore

Spider-baby is making its way to France.

Funland may have come to Craggy Island but there’s no denying that France will be the best place to support the boys in green during Euro 2016, there might even be a spider-baby.

While Ireland’s matches against Sweden, Italy and Belgium look as daunting as a swim in The Pond of Terror, we’re still extremely confident that Martin O’Neill’s men can cause an upset.

Leicester’s remarkable season has given football fans renewed hope that dreams can indeed come true and JOE reader Aidan Moloney has taken the Foxes’ incredible achievement to the next logical level, by combining an Irish win at Euro 2016 with Father Ted.

Denmark upset the odds in ’92 and Greece stunned the world in ’04, so why shouldn’t Irish fans start dreaming? We all remember Jason McAteer’s finest moment, right?

We’re not certain if Ibrahimovic or Lukaku will have the body of a spider but they’re actually a baby when they face Ireland, but we better start studying this flag/chart.

We wonder if any Irish fans in France also plan on throwing a saddle onto an 80-year-old auld lad before they start whipping him around a field for an hour.
