The people have spoken.
Last week, we ran a poll on the site asking JOE readers to vote for one member of the Irish squad to be the face of an Irish flag we’ve specially commissioned for Euro 2016.
The flag will be designed by none other than Will Sliney, an artist who has worked on Spiderman, X-Men and The Avengers for Marvel and has collaborated with Umbro and his beloved Everton Football Club in the past.
We’ve featured Will on the past for his fantastic depiction of the leaders of the 1916 Rebellion and a brilliant reference to Father Larry Duff in a Spiderman comic.
Over 2,000 of you voted on the poll since last Thursday and in the end, there was a clear winner, with Donegal’s Seamus Coleman commanding over 30% of the vote and finishing ahead of assistant manager Roy Keane, Shane Long and Jonathan Walters.

As a big Everton fan himself, Will will be pretty happy and he’s already got to work on a design that is shaping up very nicely indeed.

We’ll have the finished product on the site later this week and can’t wait to bring it to France.
Come on you boys in green.
