VIDEO: England fans tear-gassed and arrested for fracas in Marseille

Carl Kinsella

French riot police had to clear the scene when over 200 England fans gathered in O’Malley’s beer garden in Marseille ahead of their team’s Saturday clash with Russia.

According to the Express, one England fan was seriously injured and was seen lying in a pool of his own blood during the fracas.

Reports from witnesses in Marseille say that the England fans were singing songs about terrorist group ISIS, including “We love you ISIS, we do” and “ISIS, where are you?”

Another video however, posted to YouTube, claims that the English were attacked by “Marseille Ultras”, though neither claim has been officially verified.

The crowd was eventually dispersed by riot police who used tear-gas to break up the trouble-makers. Two England fans have also been reportedly arrested.

France is expecting an in-flux of roughly 10 million fans over the course of the tournament, so remember to be on your best behaviour if you’re flying out to support the boys in green this month.
