RTE’s sports department have a reputation for coming up with spine-tingling promos ahead of major sporting events and they pulled a big one out of the bag for Ireland’s opening game of Euro 2016.
To a backdrop of inspirational clips from the qualifying campaign, the Notorious himself, Conor McGregor, issued a rallying cry to the Ireland team and fans, concentrating on the theme of ‘new Ireland’, which McGregor himself very much represents.
