It’s fair to say we’ve been the better side.
Ireland have started their Euro 2016 campaign brightly against Sweden, and fans can have few complaints as to the quality of that first-half performance despite the 0-0 scoreline.
First, Jeff Hendrick drew a great save from the Swedish keeper with a rasping effort – then John O’Shea spurned an unbelievable chance to put Ireland one-nil up, just misjudging Clark’s downward header. The best chance of the half came when Hendrick stung the crossbar on 32 minutes, but Isaksson’s net remained un-rattled.
Challenges have flown in and Ireland’s defence managed to keep the great Ibra quiet – if anything, Ireland look by far the more dangerous team.
Here are some tweets to sum up the half:

Ireland should be leading here, easily, convert your chances #COYBIG

It’s been a game defined by missed chances so far, but if the boys in green can convert one early in the second half we could be on our way to our first win at the Euros since 1988.
