Ireland didn’t manage to beat Sweden today but it was still a brilliant occasion at the Stade de France and those who were there to witness it won’t forget in a hurry.
One Irish fan, who we only know as Jay, almost missed his chance to be there as he lost his match ticket before entering the ground and was understandably quite distressed about doing so.
A group of Irish fans from Derry, including Brian Kerrigan, came across Jay outside the stadium and in an incredibly sound gesture, chipped in and bought him a ticket.
As you can see, he was quite moved by it.
What a wonderful act of generosity. Well played, fellas.
