A lot of you will agree with this.
The RTÉ studio panel were made for results like this as Damien Duff, Didi Hamann and Eamon Dunphy had to dissect and analyse England’s dismal 2-1 defeat against Iceland.
Dunphy loves a good underdog story, especially one which also involves ‘burning the bondholders’, as the inquest into another miserable performance at a major tournament got underway.
Didi Hamann knows a thing or two about what’s required to make a great team at international football and the 2002 World Cup finalist didn’t hold back in his scathing criticism of English football and the myth surrounding the Premier League as ‘the greatest league in the world’
The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich midfielder reckons that ‘the Premier League is average’ and that they’ve ‘sold a Skoda for a Lamborghini for the last 15 years’.
Take a look.
Didi Hamann's critique of the Premier League is delicious. pic.twitter.com/Igc2H7YGUs
