Needless to say, this post contains spoilers for the last episode of Game of Thrones.

So what about that last episode of Game of Thrones huh? The opening scene was pretty dang epic between the little kids going all Michael Myers on Grand Maester Pycelle and Great Sept of Baelor becoming a towering inferno.
But one moment in particular caught our eye, after years of hints, fan speculation and general hype, there was a reveal about Jon Snow’s true parentage.
We saw Lyanna Stark lying in a pool of her own blood and we saw her pleading with Ned to protect someone from Robert Baratheon.

It’s been coming for a while but we finally know, Jon Snow is not the bastard son of Ned Stark.
Jon Snow is Lyanna Stark’s son and his father is…
Rhaegar Targaryen.

The famous fan theory which has been doing the rounds for over ten years has all but been confirmed…
R + L = J.
Or in other words, Rhaegar + Lyanna = Jon…

When R+L=J was confirmed and then it cut to Jon now, I was tearing up. It happened, and it was so fantastic. #GameofThrones
