Lancel Lannister has had his say on Boris Johnson

Carl Kinsella

Lancel Lannister knows a thing or two about corrupt political figures.

He spent the first few years in the employ of his cousin Cersei and was coerced by her into killing King Robert Baratheon. After that, he found God (Gods, technically) and devoted his life to being a warrior in the service of the High Sparrow.

Somehow, though, politics in the United Kingdom is even stranger than that of Westeros.

This day last week, it was declared that the UK had voted to leave the EU. David Cameron immediately stepped down with Boris Johnson has presumptive replacement. Yesterday, Johnson declined to contest the leadership of the party in a move that many see as a reluctance to clean the mess he made by leading the Leave campaign.

Several celebrities have called him out on social media, and Game of Thrones actor Eugene Simon who has played Lancel Lannister since season one, has added his voice to the criticism, referring to Johnson as ‘cowardly’ and ‘bovine’ (that is ‘similar to or pertaining to a cow’).
