No life jacket, no excuse.
If the weather stays the way it has been of late then we’ll all be staying indoors, but regardless of conditions, the number of people taking a dip in the water will increase in the summer months.
With that in mind and with primary schools and secondary schools now finished for the summer, the Irish Coast Guard have launched a safety campaign warning of the dangers of being without a life jacket in Irish seas.
A safety video released by the Coast Guard highlights the differences between wearing a life jacket and not wearing a life jacket in the water and illustrates that it very much could be a matter of life and death.
