Who hasn’t dreamed of a giant water slide in the middle of Dublin’s City Centre?
Just us? Oh, Okay. Anyway, those crazy kids at HB have only gone and done it. The 98fm Big Slide Home with HB Ice Cream is on the way and we can’t bloody wait!
And guess what? They’ve announced a second date! On Saturday 23 and 24 July, if you’re near Winetavern Street near Christchurch Cathedral, then you need to pop down for a look.
If you want to have a go on it, just hop onto HB Ice cream’s Facebook page.

It got us thinking, what other amazing stuff would we like to see visit Dublin?
Here’s what we’ve come up with!
A tomato fighting festival!
Every year, the La Tomatina tomato fight festival happens in Buñol, Spain. Can you imagine if this happened in Dublin? The veg sellers on Moore Street would be only delighted!

A cheese running event
The good folks in Coopers Hill, Gloucestershire host an event every year where hundreds of people chase a rolling cheese down a hill.
This could easily work in Phoenix Park!

A mud festival
I know what you’re thinking; isn’t everyday it rains a mud festival in Dublin? Well, not quite. The Boryeong Mud Festival in South Korea takes it to a whole new level and we must say, it looks like great craic.

A wife carrying race
Here is one good reason to get married; the annual wife carrying championships in Sonkajärvi, central Finland.
We’re sure this would go down a treat in Dublin!

The Songkran festival
Every year in Thailand, the whole country has a massive water fight as part of The Songkran festival. If this came to Dublin, it would go brilliantly well with HB’s mega-slide!
