Maisie Williams’ wishes for Arya Stark might upset a lot of Game of Thrones fans (SPOILERS)

Season Six of Game of Thrones was definitely the season where the Starks fought back.

Having suffered tragedy after awful tragedy in the five preceding seasons, the Starks finally caught a break, with Jon Snow and Sansa returning to Winterfell following victory in the Battle of the Bastards.

It wouldn’t be a Game of Thrones season without a Stark death – Rickon was the unfortunate victim this time around – but Bran managed to evade the White Walkers and Arya also escaped the increasingly tedious House and Black and White.

Arya’s path seemed to be leading her back to a Stark family reunion, but it turns out the actress who plays her, Maisie Williams, isn’t as keen on that as the rest of us might be.

While visiting Syrian refugees with the International Rescue Committee alongside Game of Thrones co-stars Lena Headley and Liam Cunningham recently, Williams told People: “I’d love for her to be a bit of a lone ranger – kind of like the Hound.

“I don’t really want her to reunite with her family because I don’t think that they’re the same people anymore, or that she’s the same person anymore. I think she’s better off on her own.”

Williams, of course, doesn’t get to decide Arya’s fate in Season 7 – which has been subject to delays – but if there was to be a reunion, would her heart really be in it?
