High praise indeed.
Galway and Dublin have both ranked high on a list of the friendliest cities in the world, compiled by the renowned travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
Dublin was ranked in third place and Galway in sixth place in a list of the 20 friendliest cities in the world, a list determined by a survey taken by some 128,000 people.
Only Charleston in South Carolina, USA and Sydney in Australia ranked higher than Dublin, with the description of our capital including a line from a Condé Nast reader which read: “LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IRELAND. THE PEOPLE ARE THE NICEST IN THE WORLD”.

Of Galway, it was said that the town “enchanted our readers with the ‘live music in the pubs and in the street, the food,’ and, of course, the vibe”.
Such high praise from Condé Nast follows on from a glowing review of Galway in the New York Times, while it was also, of course, recently selected as the 2020 European Capital of Culture.
Good times to be a Galwegian indeed.
