Been to any of these places this year?
Bangkok in Thailand is projected to be the most-visited city in the world in 2016, according to the Mastercard Global Destination Cities Index.
The Index projects that Bangkok, probably the backpacking capital of the world, will attract 21.47 million international overnight visitors in 2016, followed by London, Paris, Dubai and New York.

2016 is the seventh year of the Index and it ranks cities based on total international overnight visitor arrivals and cross-border spending by those same visitors, offering up passenger growth forecasts as a result.
Public data is used to gather information regarding the international overnight visitor arrivals and their cross-border spending in each of the 132 destination cities, with separate rankings for each continent as well as an overall table.
