The first episode of Gogglebox Ireland has just finished over on TV3.
Ten households. Ten televisions. And most of them blessed themselves during the Angelus.

The first episode of Gogglebox Ireland was as informative as it was entertaining, with retired pals Eileen and Angela kindly informing us that “18 times that bell rings” just before Six-One.
Fascinating stuff, and Sharon Ní Bheoláin will have been delighted with this.
Gogglebox Ireland – the Cabra chicks – on Sharon Ní B " her hair's after booting down" 😂😂😝😝

The striking Dublin Bus drivers got no sympathy from the Ryans in Monaleen. “They should be ashamed of themselves,” insisted Jamie, while the Cabra girls watching the All-Ireland Final made the very obvious comparison between Marty Morrissey and John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.
How did we never notice that before?
Ashley, meanwhile, suggested that the game needs a Superbowl-style half-time show. Unconfirmed reports at this time state that Drake has been lined up for GAA Headquarters in September 2017.
This is how the first episode played out on Twitter…
Really hoping #GoggleboxIRL focuses on the Healy Rae family. Stick on the weather on their tv, and just watch the carnage ensue.

Once again Ireland have ruined another perfectly good programme by doing an Irish gogglebox like wtf are they at sitting watching rte news😂😂

Gogglebox Ireland is very unrealistic. Nobody's sitting there checking their phone and only half paying attention. That's real Irish TV

Watching the irish version of gogglebox is like putting a bottle of coke in your cereal instead of milk
