Here are the lowest rated episodes of 10 absolutely brilliant TV shows

Paul Moore

Controversial.

It’s very likely that you’ll instantly know what your favourite TV episode is – these IMDB ratings of the best episodes from Father Ted, Game of Thrones and The Simpsons are very interesting – but let’s look at the other side of things.

What have the IMDB users ranked as the poorest episodes from some of the world’s most beloved shows?

Before the angry TV mob gather their pitchforks and attempt to come and lynch us, please note that we absolutely love all of these 10 TV shows. Here’s what the IMDB users think are the ‘weakest’ episodes of some amazing TV shows.

Game of Thrones

Episode: Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken

Plot: The Sand Snakes attack when their prey practically lands in their laps. Meanwhile, Arya continues her training in Braavos; Trystane and Myrcella discuss their future; Jorah and Tyrion have a run-in with slavers; and Littlefinger meets with Cersei to declare his loyalty to the throne.

Memorable because: The line “the dwarf lives until we find a cock merchant”.

Father Ted

Episode: And God Created Woman

Plot: Father Ted struggles with a crush he has for a lady visitor, and the arrival of a group of nuns.

Memorable because:  Mrs Doyle and the awful language that authors use. “Ride me sideways” was another one.

Breaking Bad

Episode: Fly

Plot: There is a fly loose in the lab. Walt and Jesse must do whatever they can to kill it before it contaminates the meth.

Memorable because: The world’s most famous fly since Jeff Goldblum.

Fly

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Episode: Frank’s Brother

Plot:When Frank’s long lost brother Gino shows up at the bar, the two of them tell the gang about the jazz club they ran in the 1960s and 70s, and how they fell out over Shadynasty, a singer who was the love of both of their lives.

Memorable because: The best name of a nightclub that you’ll hear.

Friday Night Lights

Episode: Little Girl I Wanna Marry You

Plot: Smash’s mom finds his steroids and reports them to Coach Taylor, forcing the coach to bench Smash for the next game. Matt’s dad is recalled to Iraq leaving Matt to once again take care of his grandma. Lila’s dad sets her up with a date and Jason gets upset.

Memorable because: The realisation that Corrina Williams is one of the best characters in Friday Night Lights.

FNLCorrina

The Wire

Episode: The Target.

Plot: The very first episode. Baltimore Det. Jimmy McNulty finds himself in hot water with his superior Major William Rawls after a drug dealer, D’Angelo Barksdale who is charged with three murders, is acquitted. McNulty knows the judge in question and although it’s not his case, he’s called into chambers to explain what happened.

Memorable because: It was the very first episode of the greatest TV show ever made. Five-O!

thewire2main

The Simpsons

Episode: Technically speaking, the episode with Lady Gaga is the lowest rated episode, but we know that nobody has ever seen that one. We think that you’ll definitely remember the second-lowest rated episode though,  All Singing, All Dancing

Plot:Homer is disappointed when the western he rented turns out to be a musical, so the family reminds him of the musical moments in the show’s history

Memorable because: Paint Your Wagon…with blood!

The West Wing

Episode: Access

Plot:A documentary-style look at the day in the life of press secretary C.J. Cregg on a day that turns out to be anything but normal due to a FBI/terrorist standoff.

Memorable because: It still jars with fans of the show. We’ll always love Allison Janney though.

WW

The Sopranos

EpisodeChristopher

Plot:Columbus Day ignites tensions between Italians and Native Americans, and Bobby receives devastating news about his wife.

Memorable because: Silvio Dante (played by Steven Van Zandt ) trying to stop a protest by Native Americans

Sopranos-The

Friends

Episode:The One with the Invitation

Plot:As Ross and Emily send out wedding invitations, he and Rachel each look back on their relationship.

Memorable because: It’s just a lazy highlights reel of the main moments from the  Ross and Rachel relationship.
