This is a bit like when your mam says words like ‘freaking out’ and ‘cool.’
The Gardaí have issued a travel update ahead of Saturday evening All-Ireland football final replay between Dublin and Mayo at Croke Park, and they may have been on the gargle before composing it.
There’s talk of red and green snakes, pilgrims, guitars and a very competitive Navan Road.
It’s hard to describe really, veering from the poetic to a bit of folklore and back again, stopping off for the odd reference to bus strikes and the Luas.
We do like this line, ‘The wheels on the bus go round and round however we seek divine intervention and hope they are running on Saturday.’
It’s all fairly good natured, but sometimes you just want the facts, ma’am.
Thanks to Annette Temple for this.
