Irish restaurant gets its first Michelin star at a London ceremony

Carl Kinsella

We’re dying to try some this place now.

Blackrock’s Heron and Grey restaurant has covered itself in glory, capturing its first Michelin star as part of the launch of the Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland 2017, which took place on Monday afternoon.

The summary that Michelin posted to their Twitter account described the South Dublin restaurant as ‘innovative, quirky and original’.

The restaurant serves a five-course set menu for €48 and offers a comprehensive wine menu. One of the brand’s selling points is that the menu is transient, changing every two weeks and focusing on what is in season.

If you want to pay a visit to the newly-minted Michelin men, best to do it soon – Heron and Grey will be closed from Christmas Eve until January 19.
