He bleeds red and green.
Lee Keegan has consistently been one of Mayo’s standout performers this season because on more than one occasion, he has been a leader of men when his side need it the most.
The half back is fully deserving of his Footballer of the Year nomination, the 2016 All-Star nominations confirming this news, and despite being issued a black card in Saturday’s replay, very few people have done more for the Mayo cause than the Westport man.
His wonderful goal against the Dubs was one of the best moments of the Championship but right now, he’s hurting.
This being said, Keegan still took the time to pay tribute to his teammates and the fans who were all behind the Mayo cause. Pure class.
