Quietly making their point…
The Simpsons were in the news recently for their infamous Bart to the Future episode which aired in 2000, which predicted that Lisa would become President of the US following the disastrous term of Donald Trump.
Trump would ruin America’s economy in the episode and leave Lisa scrambling to pick up the pieces.
While kudos has been given to the writers for predicting the outcome, with writer Dan Greaney outlining their reasons for it here, they’re not happy that their prediction became the new reality for America.
The episode was meant as a warning to America, it was never meant to be true…
Now that Trump has been become President-elect, the show noted their accuracy in the opening credits of an episode on Sunday, with Bart writing on the blackboard: “Being Right Sucks.”
