Actor Ron Glass, known for his roles in Barney Miller and Firefly, has passed away at the age of 71.
The actor was beloved for his role as Shepherd Derrial Book in Joss Whedon’s cult sci-fi TV series Firefly. 90’s kids will also remember Glass as Rod (God’s cousin) in the Disney Channel show Teen Angel. He was also Emmy-nominated for his role as Detective Ron Harris in the 70s comedy show Barney Miller.
Glass also had a particularly memorable guest role in Friends, appearing as Ross’ divorce lawyer Russell.

Glass had battled with various illnesses and died in his home on Saturday, where he was watched by a caretaker. He was an active member of the Los Angeles Buddhist community, according to TMZ.
