The feature we’ve all been waiting for…
Yesterday, Netflix announced they’d introduced a download feature to their site, so you can watch your favourite movies and TV shows offline.
That’s right folks, you can now download your episodes and watch them at a later time. This could be especially useful for bus, plane and train journeys where any available Wi-Fi is likely to be absolutely atrocious.
The company announced the news in a blog post yesterday with Eddy Wu, Director of Product Innovation, stating: “Netflix members worldwide can now download in addition to stream great series and films at no extra cost. While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited. Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection”.
If you’re using Netflix on mobile, update to the latest version of the app and similarly if you’re using the app on your laptop/desktop, then you should be able to utilise the feature.
You won’t be able to download episodes if you’re using Netflix in an internet browser, such as Google Chrome.
So how do you download an episode?
It’s quite simple really, you go to the ‘Details’ page on the series or movie you want to download and click on the download icon.

The show should then begin to download.

A whole host of shows are available for offline viewing now including Narcos, Orange is the New Black and The Crown.
Enjoy, folks…
