Kenny Powers meets Michael Myers.
Very few filmmakers can say that they’ve directed some bona fide cult-classics, but in the case of John Carpenter, he has a CV that’s second to none.
The Thing, Escape from New York, Assault on Precinct 13 and Big Trouble in Little China are just some of the gems that he has made, but it appears that Carpenter is bringing back his most famous cinematic creation.
With such an amazing list of films and characters, choosing one standout title is incredibly hard, but we’re opting for Halloween because it’s not just a superb horror film, it’s a superb film.
After meeting Michael Myers for the first time in 1978, audiences were never the same again because Carpenter’s film was that rare mix of atmosphere, suspense and style.
As for the score, well, it’s still terrifying.

On the opposite end of things, we have Kenny Powers, a lovable degenerate that’s the main character in one of the best comedies of the last decade, the wonderful Eastbound & Down.
In his own words, Kenny was once “invited to attend a social gathering, I was paid a handsome amount of money. I brought a shotgun and a bottle of Tanqueray and showed those people the best fucking time they’ve ever seen.” Yeah, the show is amazing.
Given Carpenter’s apathy towards those who adapt/recreate his work, we’re delighted to see that he’s more than happy to work with Danny McBride and David Gordon Green on the new Halloween film.
In a post to his Facebook page, Carpenter said : “David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are joining the project to complete the creative team. David and Danny will write the script together and David will direct. I will continue in my executive producer role to consult and offer my advice and feedback as needed.”
Expect to see the new Halloween in theaters on October 19th, 2018.
