A very mechanically-minded man…
Many aspire to be culinary masters but not many people ever make it to that level for a variety of reasons, be it lack of skill, a lack of commitment or a lack of the necessary cooking utensils.
Fortunately for this Wexford man, he wasn’t about to let the absence of a working whisk, get in the way of his wife’s baking.
Catherine McEvoy was making chocolate eclairs in her home in Enniscorthy, when she realised she’d lent her electric whisk to a neighbour.
As she pondered what she should do, her husband Tony disappeared into another room and returned holding a drill, he attached the head of a whisk to the drill and proceeded to save the day through his quick thinking.
Tony then whipped up the cream for the eclairs with his homemade whisk, and according to his daughter-in-law Danielle, they turned out fantastic, despite the problems encountered with the splash back.
If you don’t believe us, have a look at the finished product below.
We have to say that Tony is far handier with a drill/whisk than the man in Laois below, who had great difficulty when using it for the first time…
