The Killers and The 1975 are headlining a festival that costs just €115 for a three-day ticket

Who’s coming with us?

Monday marks the official start of summer, the cue for many of us to start thinking of holidays.

For music fans, while there are loads of great events taking place in Ireland over the summer, the prospect of travelling abroad for a festival is always an appealing one, particularly when there’s a 90% chance the weather will be better than it is at home.

With that in mind, fans of bands such as The Killers, The 1975 and legendary acts such as Depeche Mode and Brian Wilson might fancy taking a trip to Bilbao BBK Live from 6-8 July (Thursday).

The Killers are probably the biggest name on a line-up that also features Justice, Fleet Foxes, Royal Blood and Two Door Cinema Club, while the presence of the aforementioned Depeche Mode and Brian Wilson (performing the iconic Pet Sounds album) will doubtless tempt music lovers of a certain vintage.

Tickets for the three-day festival are priced at a very reasonable €115 (+ booking fee) and there is camping (€10 + fees) with capacity for 12,000 people located approximately three kilometres from the festival site.

According to Skyscanner, meanwhile, return flights in and around the dates in question currently cost approximately €200 from Dublin (depart Wednesday, return Sunday).

Sounds pretty sweet to us.
