We’re not jealous, YOU’RE JEALOUS.
The Dubliner pub in Copenhagen has become a home to the thousands of Irish fans who travelled to Denmark for the weekend, some with tickets but many also without.
There is something truly special about us Irish fans, no matter where we go in the world to follow the Boys in Green, we always come out in force. No matter how far away from home it is, the Irish will come and they will be heard.
The scenes inside and outside the pub over the last 24 hours have been something else. The street has become green with people and it is a fantastic sight.
Songs about Shane Long being on fire and ‘The Fields of Athenry’ have been playing on loop since early on Friday afternoon but the sounds will start to fade from The Dubliner pub and instead, the noise will fill the stadium in Copenhagen ahead of the 7:45pm kick-off.
Okay, we admit we’re about 90% proud to be Irish but 10% jealous that we were not situated outside The Dubliner pub at one stage this weekend. If you were one of the people in any of these crowds, you’re very, very lucky.
