Pure class.
It seemed that Micheal O’Leary chewed off more than he could swallow this weekend at the Leopardstown Races, as a series of insults he spouted was rivalled with a sly dig aimed at him by his interviewer.
The Ryanair CEO spoke to Matt Chapman on Sunday in Dublin about Samcro, O’Leary’s unbeaten racehorse which is claiming all the headlines at the minute for his sensational run in racing season and his trainer, Gordon Elliot.
“You hold him, obviously, in the highest regard, you think he’s really special,” Chapman said about Elliot.
“I don’t. I think he’s somewhat overweight, not as good looking as me.” O’Leary continued: “He’s better at training horses than I am, to be fair. I’m thinking of getting him into roster a couple of pilots, sort out a couple of the other issues,”
The At The Races presenter went on to talk about the Ryanair boss’s life outside of the racecourse:
“You are a man with problems at the moment, you have issues, pilots and that sort of stuff.”
And then, this happened…
What does Michael O'Leary think of Samcro now?! @MCYeeehaaa grabs a word at @LeopardstownRC: pic.twitter.com/Vm4WDunpLy

“Hold on, Samcro’s not special, Gordon’s overweight, Jack is one of many – I’m beginning to see why the pilots didn’t turn up.”
To which a shocked O’Leary said: “That’s a low blow.”
Sensational.
