Pierce Brosnan’s second best Bond movie is on later. Take from that what you will.
We’re not gonna lie, it was tough putting together tonight’s five best films on telly, because it really isn’t is a good selection from what is on offer.
The Meg is out this weekend, and you should go see it. Our review is right here in this week’s episode of The Big Reviewski:
But for tonight, check out one of following. Maybe.
THURSDAY 9 AUGUST
The World Is Not Enough – ITV4 – 9.00pm
The third of Brosnan’s four Bond movies, the one with Robert Carlyle as the man who can’t feel pain, and Denise Richards as the nuclear scientist Dr. Christmas Jones. It was the one that had a better villain that Tomorrow Never Dies, not quite as ridiculous as Die Another Die. Arguably the second best of his after GoldenEye.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend – Comedy Central – 9.00pm
Uma Thurman is the super-powered hero that is dating regular guy Luke Wilson, but when he dumps her, she begins to go a little super-crazy, using her superpowers to get revenge on him. There are, maybe, three good jokes in the whole thing.
Couples Retreat – RTE Two – 10.00pm
Vince Vaughn, Kristen Bell, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerman, Jason Bateman, Kristin Davis and Jean Reno star as a group of couples who head to a beautiful island retreat to improve their relationships. There are, maybe, three good jokes in the whole thing.
Waiting For Exhale – Film 4 – 10.55pm
Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett and more star in this comedy-drama about a group of friends who come together to discuss the lack of good men in their lives. Believe it or not, it is directed by Forest Whitaker.
Grave Of The Fireflies – Film 4 – 1.20am
One of the greatest animated movies of all time. Read all about it here.
