This will be a treat for true crime fans.
With titles like Narcos, Suburra, Money Heist and Ozark, it’s clear that Netflix are happy to keep feeding our crime addiction and when you combine those titles with their incredible array of documentaries, TV lovers will have plenty to binge on over the next few months.
Well, there’s no such thing as too much of a good thing because the online streaming giant have announced that they’ll be launching a new true crime anthology series.
Basically, imagine something like American Horror Story but replace horror with the world’s most infamous and controversial crimes.
Historia de un Crimen will be a a new scripted crime anthology series that will tackle notorious controversial crimes that have rocked countries for decades, generated social turmoil and triggered charges of corruption and a search for justice.
Each season will focus on a new country, crime and riveting case.
The first season of the franchise will depict the case of Luis Donaldo Colosio, the Mexican politician and presidential candidate who was assassinated at a campaign rally in Tijuana during the Mexican presidential campaign of 1994. The eight-episode season is set to begin production this week in Mexico City and it’s going to be available exclusively to Netflix members around the world in 2019.
If you’re looking for a more immediate crime show to binge on, the online streaming giant have also released the first trailer for one of their most eagerly anticipated new shows, Dogs of Berlin.
The gritty drama focuses on two contrasting police detectives who are forced into a territorial battle with the Berlin underworld. After the death of a renowned German-Turkish soccer player, two very different cops each face off against the German underworld, and each is forced to face their own criminal activities. Fahri Yardim (The Physician) plays policeman Erol Birkan, and Felix Kramer (Dark) plays rival cop Kurt Grimmer.
The series will premiere on the streaming service on 7 December.
