Robert Sheehan is starring in a brand new Netflix series and it looks incredible

Rudi Kinsella

We can’t wait for this.

Misfits and Love/Hate star Robert Sheehan will play one of the main characters in a brand new Netflix series, coming to the streaming service next year.

The series, The Umbrella Academy, is based on the popular comics written by Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance fame, and it sounds pretty damn interesting.

As far as the plot goes, the year is 1989, and 43 babies have been inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before.

Seven of them are adopted by a billionaire who begins training them to to save the world, as you do. But not everything went according to plan as, in their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded.

The show will follow the six surviving members of the family, who are now in their 30s as they work together to try and solve the mystery around their father’s death.

But the estranged family begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.

Sheehan will play Klaus Hargreaves, who is described as “super high”, as he’s pictured holding a bottle of alcohol.

Now we imagine you’re hooked already, but the good news doesn’t stop there.

Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-LampmanDavid Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige make up the rest of the cast…

Sounds fairly incredible to us.

The show will be launched on Netflix on 15 February 2019.
