It’s no less than the show deserves.
Last year, Lisa McGree’s comedy Derry Girls took Ireland and the UK by storm — and at the end of last year it proved its quality when it came US Netflix and won rave reviews the whole world over.
Now, the four girls (and the wee English fella) are being immortalised on the side of the iconic Badgers pub in Derry — between the Foyldeside and Richmond shopping centres.
Photos from the scene, taken by Conan Doherty, show that the mural is nearing completion — and looking absolutely incredible. The mural was commissioned by Channel 4 ahead of the show’s second season.

Actress Nicola Coughlan, who plays Clare on the show, has commented on the mural on Twitter, saying that her mind is blown by the work of art. It’s expected to be finished today (27 January).
