What the hell now? JOE’s Game of Thrones podcast The North Awaits picks up the pieces.
The Night King is dead. The White Walkers are gone. The world is saved. So where does Game of Thrones go now? Spoilers from this point onwards.
The allied forces of Northerners, Unsullied, Dothraki, wildlings and miscellaneous were left to tend to their wounds, get drunk, and in some cases have sex.
Of course, they only had about 20 minutes to do all of that before Daenerys Targaryen marched a whole load of them south getting one her dragons and her best friend killed in the process.
The episode was largely a set up for the Battle of King’s Landing, which is also a battle for the Iron Throne.
It feels like anyone and everyone could still die, and much of what’s left to discuss is quite simply… How? Will The Mountain kill Arya, only to be killed by The Hound? Will The Hound die saving Arya, so Arya can kill the Hound?
Will Jaime finally lose faith with Cersei and kill her? Or will she get her wish and kill him? Or her younger brother? Will Bronn kill all of them?
How will Varys go about pushing Jon’s claim for the throne, and what will it mean for Daenerys? Will she burn King’s Landing to the ground?
