Snap back to reality.
Oh, there goes gravity.
Yep, we’re all back to earth with the velocity of a Vincent Kompany 35-yard screamer as the Bank Holiday weekend melts away and a normal week resumes.
Nice while it lasted, and all that.
Something that will never die is cinema, and the passion of the public for it.
With that in mind, here’s the best movie options on TV today, Tuesday 7 May…
Mrs Doubtfire – E4 – 8pm
In which the late, great Robin Williams channels all of his nervous energy to create a truly iconic character, one who should probably face prison time by film’s end.
Deepwater Horizon – Film 4 – 9pm
Mark Wahlberg and Kurt Russell try to survive a real life oil rig disaster.
Daybreakers – SyFy – 9pm
Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe glower about the place in a futuristic vampire-filled dystopia.
Jaws 2 – ITV4 – 9pm
“It’s a very different film, it’s a different shark!”
Swordfish – TCM – 11pm
Travolta! Jackman! Hacking! Terrible hair! The early 2000s!
Dogtooth – Film 4 – 1.15am
Highly surreal and ultra dark comedy directed by Yorgos Lanthimos before he went on to the likes of The Lobster and The Favourite.
Absolutely not one to watch with family members, but it would be weird to watch any movie with your mam and dad at one in the morning, anyway.
