Here are the best movies on TV today

Alan Loughnane

It’s Wednesday.

Wednesday historically would have been seen as the greatest of all the midweek days in terms of movies, but alas, there are very few movies adorning our TV screens today.

Let’s have a look at the pick of what’s on.

Wonder – Film4 – 6.45pm

A really warm-hearted family movie starring Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson. Contains some tear jerking moments as well.

Midnight Run – Film4 – 9pm

The pick of the movies on tonight. Robert De Niro plays a bounty hunter transporting embezzling accountant Jack Grodin.

Rocky III – ITV4 – 9pm

Contains a nominee for the greatest film baddie name of all time; Clubber Lang.

30 Days of Night – SyFy – 10pm

Horror about a group of vampires attacking an Alaskan town.

Circle of Friends – Virgin Media One – 11pm

In a similar way to the Snapper, the whole of Ireland comes together to watch this adaption of the Maeve Binchy novel whenever it’s on TV.

Fun fact: Ryan Tubridy is in a scene as an extra.

Ali – ITV4 – 11.10pm

If you’re not fired up enough after watching Rocky, Cassius Clay’s biopic should satisfy you.

All for Love – TG4 – 11.55pm

A novelist and a Navy SEAL must team up for research purposes.
