Here are the 7 best movies on TV on Saturday

Rudi Kinsella

Some very good options tonight.

There is still a confusingly low amount of Christmas movies on the box this evening, but a very good selection nonetheless.

Here’s what we’re dealing with:

Happy Gilmore – 8pm – Comedy Central

Adam Sandler’s best movie and it is not close. Don’t @ us.

Liar Liar – 8.20pm – ITV2

Jim Carrey at his whacky best, as his character finds himself completely incapable of lying thanks to his son’s birthday wish.

Ghost – 9pm

Worth watching for the he pottery scene alone. You know the one. You know it.

The Fugitive – 9pm – TCM

One of the all-time great thrillers, starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones (who picked up an Oscar for his troubles).

Forrest Gump – 9.20pm – Channel 4

An absolute classic, that you should definitely watch if you’ve never seen it before. “Mama always said ‘Life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get'”.

John Wick – 9.20pm – Sky One

Never get in the way of a man and his dog. Starring Keanu Reeves and Willem Dafoe. Exciting (and very violent) stuff.

Brooklyn – 10.35pm – RTÉ One

Saoirse Ronan is an Irish woman living with her mother in the 1950s decides to make a fresh start in America. A great movie, with Ronan putting in a very impressive display.
