Get a Sunday night movie into you.
It is the last Sunday before Christmas.
So do the right thing, and put off buying any presents or doing housework, and settle on the couch and watch a movie.
Here are the very decent options this evening:
Shrek – TG4 – 5.20pm
One of the best animated movies of all time. No doubt about it.
Catch Me If You Can – BBC Two – 5.50pm
Leo DiCaprio’s greatest ever performance (we know, controversial, but it’s true), while Tom Hanks is as brilliant as ever. A 10/10 movie.
Elf – Sky One – 7pm
One of the all-time great Christmas movies, and still one of Will Ferrell’s best films.
Notting Hill – RTÉ2 – 9.30pm
Hugh Grant plays a clumsy/charming bookshop owner who falls in love with a movie star (played by Julia Roberts).
The Longest Yard – Virgin Media One – 10.15pm
A washed up quarterback ends up in jail after a drunken night out. Hilarity ensues.
The Inbetweeners 2 – Channel 4 – 11.10pm
Nowhere near as good as the first movie or the TV series, but still good for a few laughs.
Warrior – Film4 – 11.20pm
A brilliant sports film starring Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton, that also saw Nick Nolte nominated for an Oscar.
The Big Sick – BBC One – 00.10am
A critically acclaimed love story starring Kumail Nanjiani and Zoe Kazan. Interestingly, it’s based on how Nanjiani actually met his real life wife.
