Here are the 11 best movies on TV on Sunday

Rudi Kinsella

Some very decent options here.

Ah, the day after St. Stephen’s Day.

It has fallen on a Sunday this year, so you may not have any reason to leave the couch.

If so, here are the best movies that are on the box this evening.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom – RTÉ2 – 5.50pm

The best of the Indiana Jones movies? You decide…

Billy Elliot – BBC Four – 9pm

All Billy wants to do is dance. DANCE, I say.

Avengers: Infinity War – RTÉ2 – 9pm

The greatest of all the MCU movies, and arguably one of the biggest films of all time. An incredible watch if you have a passing interest in superheroes.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues – E4 – 9pm

A hilarious sequel, despite not being nearly as good as the first. Definitely good for a few laughs though.

Pretty Woman – Sony Movie Channel – 9pm

A ruthless millionaire hires a prostitute while on a business trip. Unsurprisingly, they fall in love.

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery – Comedy Central – 9pm

GROOVY BABY.

Kingsman: The Secret Service – Film4 – 9pm

An action comedy about a British spy who enlists the help of a teenager. Fun watch.

Gremlins – Sky One – 10pm

More of a horror movie than a Christmas film if you ask this writer, but still a good movie if you’re in the right mood.

The Silence of the Lambs – UTV – 10.40pm

Another horror movie that is too scary for this writer to watch while the Christmas tree is still up, but a great film all the same.

The Wolf of Wall Street – ITV4 – 00.00am

“Sell me this pen”. Leo at his very best.

Spider-Man: Homecoming – BBC One – 00.10am

Another excellent superhero movie, if you fancy staying up late to see Tom Holland as Spider-Man.
